In Sicily, just a few kilometres from the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, grows a product that can rightfully be considered a masterpiece of Italian agriculture: Canicattì PGI Table Grapes.
Farmlands
The geographical area of production includes several municipalities in the provinces of Agrigento and Caltanissetta.
Here, Canicattì PGI Table Grapes find the ideal environment to fully express their unique characteristics and enhance the exceptional qualities that have earned them appreciation worldwide.
The Consortium
On 17 July 2024, the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests officially recognized the Canicattì Table Grape Protection Consortium pursuant to Article 14 of Law No. 526 of 21 December 1999, through Ministerial Decree No. 319078 of 17/07/2024.
The newly established Consortium represents approximately 98% of the entire certified production and carries out activities of valorisation, promotion, monitoring, protection and overall safeguarding of the designation.

- February 4-8, 2025 – Participation with a desk at the institutional stand of the Sicily Region at FruitLogistica 2025 in Berlin.
- February 18-20, 2025 – Participation in the International Conference on Geographical Indications at the FAO.
- March 25-26, 2025 – Two-day technical and scientific training seminar for producers of Canicattì PGI Table Grapes and Leonforte PGI Peaches on the PDO and PGI production systems and the protection consortia, especially in consideration of the new European regulation on quality. Activity carried out with the contribution of MASAF, Directorate-General for the Promotion of Agri-Food Quality, pursuant to Ministerial Decree no. 0672716 of 20/12/2024, CUP code J58H24000900007.
- June 13, 2025 – Participation in Enopolis, a day of trials dedicated to table grape cultivation
2024
- September 2024 – Participation in the G7 Italy Agriculture and Fisheries Expo in Ortigia, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Canicattì.
- October 22-24, 2024 – Participation in the 1st edition of the LUV Fair in Bari. On this occasion, a contribution of €10,000 was requested from the Municipality of Canicattì.
- December 2024 – Planting of several grapevine plants at Casa Barbadoro, Valley of the Temples Park, Agrigento.
